氣爆之後，高雄市水利局對箱涵內管線更加重視，最近根據石化業者已申報的管線圖資套繪，下午公布結果，高雄市雨水下水道共有140處與管線交會，有52處有管線穿越下水道箱涵，其只41處有金屬管穿越，水利局人員說，初步有派人勘查，部分防腐層有剝落。

水利局指出，8家提供圖資的石化業包括，中石化、中油、台和實業、台塑、李長榮化學、亞聚、和桐化學、鳳山油庫(軍方)。

水利局也邀石化業者辦管線遷改說明會，要求業者必須在今年10月31日前必須自行確認並提送遷改計畫，11月30日完成遷改，否則將儴高雄市公共排水管理自治條例」重罰，可連續處新台幣5千元以上30 萬元以下。
