謝淑薇與彭帥出師不利，在辛辛那提網賽女雙第一戰就遭到淘汰，宣告衛冕夢碎。

辛辛那提網賽為ATP與WTA共站賽事， WTA隸屬超級巡迴賽等級，謝淑薇與彭帥為去年雙打冠軍。

謝淑薇與彭帥首輪輪空，這一場對手為俄羅斯的Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova與捷克選手Lucie Safarova，以6-3、5-7、5-10敗下陣來。

原本第二盤謝淑薇與彭帥二破對方發球局，卻在3-0領先下被逆轉，兩度被破發，跟著被逼出盤末點，被逼入搶十大戰。

雙方在搶十一度戰成4-4，之後謝淑薇與彭帥卻兵敗如山倒，被連連取分下，只能看對手帶走勝利。
