世界小姐(Miss World)主辦單位宣佈，明年選美將取消比基尼泳裝項目。

世姐主席莫利(Julia Morley)接受《Elle》雜誌訪問時表示，她不願再見到選美佳麗身穿比基尼在台上走來走去，並強調「不在乎某佳麗的臀部比其他人大2吋，我們真的不是在看她的臀部，只想真心想聽聽她們說些什麼」。

莫利形容泳衣環節「過氣且不必要」，希望取消這個環節後，可以跟環球小姐(Miss Universe)等其他選美活動有所區別。環姐相當著重比基尼項目的競賽分數。（於慶中／綜合外電報導）
