尚比亞總統薩塔 倫敦病逝

（法新社尚比亞路沙卡29日電） 尚比亞政府今天宣布，前往英國接受治療的尚比亞總統薩塔（MichaelSata）在倫敦辭世，享壽77歲。

尚比亞內閣秘書長穆西斯卡（Roland Msiska）表示：「我沉痛宣布，我們敬愛的總統已經辭世。」

穆西斯卡表示，薩塔在倫敦愛德華7世國王醫院（King Edward VII hospital）逝世，呼籲尚比亞人民保持冷靜。

薩塔病重的消息傳聞已久，他自上月出席聯合國大會返國後，就未公開露面；在聯合國大會也未發表既定演說。

他1週前赴倫敦接受治療，9月19日罕見地公開露面並告訴國會，「我活得好好的」。

薩塔前往倫敦前，任命國防兼司法部長倫古（Edgar Lungu）擔任代理總統。

儘管官方一再否認總統生病，但分析家表示，爭奪尚比亞總統大位的權力鬥爭已經上演。（譯者：中央社蔡佳伶）
