攝影師考萊(CJ Kale)與尼克‧賽爾韋(Nick Selway)冒著生命危險，面臨生命噴湧的烈焰與熱浪，成為用相機近距離拍攝夏威夷基拉韋厄火山的先驅。現在，倆人上傳影片，講述如何成功拍到那些千載難逢的照片，還開辦講習班，為那些同樣想要自己動手拍下壯觀景象的當地人與遊客開設火山攝影課程。

根據環球網報導，在一段影片中，尼克說道，『每次徒步去那裡我都會有些緊張，因為這太危險了。』考萊補充說，『火山熔岩到處飛落，小路隨時都會坍塌。我倆都有些燒傷，也被岩石擊中，但是能拍下照片，一切都值得。』

考萊與尼克還開始提供夏威夷一日遊，帶領遊客涉足鮮為人知的瀑布，教他們如何拍攝火山照片，如何拍攝日出與日落。他們在共同經營的熔岩之夜藝術館教授課程，學費在500美元～1600美元之間，相當成功。倆人打算5年後，拍攝火山爆發時的景象。
