由於最近聯盟忙著處理洛杉磯快艇老闆Donald Sterling種族歧視言論的處分後續，年度獎項公布暫時擱置，不過，最大獎「年度最有價值球員（MVP）」似乎已經出爐。

根據《ESPN》爆料，奧克拉荷馬雷霆「雷帝」Kevin Durant將獲得2013-14年球季MVP殊榮，聯盟預計在西區準決賽首戰賽前舉辦頒獎儀式。

Durant本季平均每場攻下全聯盟最高的32分，另有7.4籃板、5.5助攻、1.3抄截，命中率50.3%。

生涯第4度得分稱霸全聯盟的Durant，將成為繼2000-01年「戰神」Allen Iverson後，第一位同年拿下「得分王」與「MVP」的球員。

在此之前，Durant連續2年都在MVP票選屈居第2，本季他率領雷霆打出59勝23敗、西區第2名佳績，總算一償宿願。

該報導透露，待聯盟處理完Sterling的後續，將替「年度最佳第六人」快艇Jamal Crawford、「年度最佳新秀」費城七六人Michael Carter-Williams舉辦頒獎儀式。
